Tracphone SAMSUNG

Just got a new phone SAMSUNG it is by fat the worst phone I've ever had incredibly bad design I would NEVER buy another Samsung phone again. Layout, keys and everything about it is just b-a-d do yourself a favor and buy something else.

Very satisfied

I was very skeptical, but since I was buying thru QVC figured I could easily return it. It arrived in a few days. I called Tracfone on Easter Sunday to activate. To my surprise my call was promptly answered by a LIVE PERSON.
He was very knowledgeable, polite and helpful. Tracfones part was done on this one call, but since I was transferring my number from AT&T I was told it could take from 7 to 10 business days. To my surprise it was done the next day, Monday. My 1,000 minutes were added that afternoon.
So far my experience with Tracfone and my new Samsung T 301 has been much better than expected. That is very unusual these days.
Both my calls to Tracfone were answered quite promptly and the service was great. The two different people I talked with were a little hard to understand, but not too bad.

Tracfone has been great

What you see is what you get here: cheap service, very good quality reception, and no contracts. If you are expecting anything more or fancier, you will be disappointed. If you're looking to spend as little money as possible on a cell phone service that isn't total crap, then this is the service for you.

Great Deal

I can actually afford to have a cell phone. This company has saved me so much money for so many more important things and I am just so grateful for them. Hope everyone else realizes how life changing this company is.

Great Deal!

I have had a TracFone of some type for over 8 years now. The price, the phones, no 2 year commitments, is great. I cant believe what these other carriers are charging people for service, plus, if you cancel, you get socked with an early termination fee. Could be up to a few hundred dollars. The thing is, TracFone shares some of the same carrier equipment of T-Mobile, Verizon etc..and these people are paying anywheres from $40.00 on up a month.
TracFone is dope!!!

Texting on Samsung T301: punctuation?

I can't figure out how to enter punctuation when texting on this phone: exclamation marks, question marks, etc. Is this just such a basic phone that punctuation isn't possible? Otherwise, I'm very happy with this phone.

there are some

there are some punctuation/characters when you press the 1 key. Press it repeatedly for the character you want. There are more punctuation/characters when you press and hold the # key ,,, a grid of characters come up. Press the "cursor" key next to OK in the center to shift to different grids, then press the number that coincides with that character to the one you want on your keypad, then press softkey OK.

I love tracfone! I have

I love tracfone! I have very little job security so signing a two year contract makes very little sense and all of the contract offers that I see are more expensive than Tracfone by quite a lot. This allows me to pay as I go, the phones are adequate, and they use ATT and Verizon towers to distribute service so you know it's everywhere.

Liked the phone alot but the

Liked the phone alot but the coverage was disappointing. My old Nokia phone could make calls where my Samsung phone kept saying emergency calls only or call restriction 34. I would have 5 bars of antenna and emergency calls only sign.Tracfone tried to help to no avail.Trying to go back to my old Nokia.

I like it, now that I figured out my old number won't work

When I got this phone last summer, many of the features of the phone were not working when my old number was ported to this phone. The TracFone people were not able to make it work, no matter what. Because I couldn't get phone service from a couple of places near my home where I go all the time, I was ready to go back to my old phone which only had texting and phone calls and a few choices for ringtones.

I finally decided to try getting a new number because I wondered if it had to do with the number being connected to a certain carrier.

As soon as I got a new number, it began to work as good, if not better, than promised! I get the coverage I needed and all the phone features as promised. Now I like it very much!

There's better phones

I'm a little disappointed in this phone. Or at least the one I got cosmically got paired with. Worst is, it's my own fault for not asking the questions. I walked into walmart with the idea of buying a tracfone. I've been with tracfone from the outset of prepaid (or at least that what it feels like), and I've had no reason to quibble with them. The whole thing is simple and cheap. So I walk in and this very attractive phone catches my eye. Now not being an ardent shopper, I like going in to buy something army style - in and out as fast as possible. I see it has blue tooth, a camera, browsing capabilities, and I assumed it played mp3's.
Well...the blue tooth was restricted, and I couldn't link it to any computer. Which was pointless in any case seeing that the phone doesn't have music playing capabilities. The camera is as alright as one could hope for from a non dedicated 1 something mega pixel camera. And the browser is alright.
Maybe my expectations were a little high. And I can't really complain seeing that the phone was really cheap, and did come with double minutes for life. It texts beautifully, the call quality is good, and the battery life actually surprised me (once I disabled the blue tooth).
All in all I can say that it's a really smart, very basic phone.

Will make a great gift

This is going to make a great gift for my family gift exchange this year. Our budget is about $50 and this will work. I can get the phone and an airtime card to get them started. Since this phone comes with a double minutes for life card, when they need to buy new airtime, each time they do the get double what they pay for. That is such a great deal. Tracfone has been great by me and I know whoever gets this will be as pleased.

Cool Slider Phone

I've always liked slider phones and finally got one! What a great cell by TracFone. The price is right and the service is top knotch. I haven't had a single dropped call and I've been with the phone for about 3 months now! What a massive improvement over my previous carrier!

Is good

This phone is good. It has great coverage with tracfone, and with double minutes for life, it has very cheap usage rates. The design is great, buttons a little small, screen is big enough to get by for browsing, and the camera is nice. This phone is good. If it was $15 cheaper, it would be great.

Impressive Phone!

I have this T301 in black and I adore it. My favorite part is that it is a slider which makes it so easy to use and I love that it automatically locks when it's closed. Very high quality product :) The Tracfone service is wonderful as well because not only am I getting this awesome phone for a great low price, but I am saving a great deal each month just by using this service. AND I get nationwide coverage as well. It's simply the best!

Great Slider Phone!

This phone is sleek, lightweight and super affordable. Plus, it's free shipping. I just bought it recently and so far, so good. oh and it's double minutes for life :)

Great Slider Phone

I've always liked slider phone and this phone is the perfect one for me. And for the price of $29.99, you can't beat it since the phone comes with double minutes for life plus a free accessory kit. My favorite part, though may be a little silly, is that I no longer butt dial people with this phone :)

i was wondering how is the

i was wondering how is the texting features, are there any problems with sending and recieving texts, and also are there alot of dropped calls?

Re: i was wondering how is the

This phone will more than likely will be activated with ATT so if you have good ATT service in your area, then the phone will perform nicely..

Samsung Slider

I just received the Samsung Slider Tracfone but the manual it comes with is useless. How do I set up voicemail? The directions say to press "1" for 5 seconds and the voicemail dials up and then follow the instructions. However, there aren't any instructions to set up a new message box.

Re:Samsung Slider

Voicemail set up is not phone specific. It depends on your carrier which is most likely AT&T. All pressing the 1 does is to dial the voicemail. If no options are given for set up then you may need to get it reset by customer service.

e-mail question

Purchased a TRACFONE Samsung T310. Was setting up contact info, and came to an E-MAIL field. What's the process for entering the "@" sign? Like, abc@email.com. Is there a special keypad button?

re:e-mail question

Repeatedly press the 1 key. It will show the @ symbol after a few presses.

Thanks.

Thanks.

Great for Grads!

Bought this as a graduation gift for my son. Since he will be moving out of the house and absorbing most of his own expenses, tracfone offer's the most minutes for your dollar. Each minute you buy, you get one free and the phone itself comes with standard features cell users ought to have. He's been using it for a couple days now and hasn't found a single issue worth complaining about. It's no iPhone, but the pairing of the t301 and tracfone is a reliable partnership.

Problem

I also got a replacement phone from TracFone, this same model. One major problem is with the downloading of ringtones, it just doesn't work. Not only that, but Tracfone's customer service absolutely sucks. and that was about a week ago. Can someone tell me how to fix this issue?

How to activate speaker

I have just received this phone and can't find anywhere how to activate the speaker on this phone. It is probably so simple I missed it. Help please!

re: Speaker Phone

I believe that you need to push the OK button to activate the speaker phone.

Samsung T301

I have been a TRACFONE user in excess of 10 years BUT this phone (SamsungT301), intended to be an uprade, is very disappointing thus far.

When I power on the screen lights up only briefly with the TRACFONE logo and remindere about adding airtime. Screen is lit for no more than a couple seconds.
I should note SAMSUNG appears on the screen and then it goes to the TRACFONE logo.

With my other TRACFONES (there have been three) the charging process was simple and quiet PLUS when it was complete a note appear on the screen denoting that.

With this one I get the constant beep and flashing across the screen. After many hours (8) the device did not show Charge Complete just more beeps.

Now I recognize I could be screwing up somewhere along the line with this phone but it should be simpler to use than what I am experiencing.

Any others with similar issues?
