Phone Look and Feel

The Samsung S959g is possibly one of if not the best phones offered by Straight Talk, possibly only rivaled by the LG Black. The s959g is essentially a renamed Galaxy S2. As such, the S959g, maintains all of the visual queues of it's well known sibling. For starters, you can't miss the huge screen which is surrounded by a lovely metal accent bezzel. Now don't mistake this for the latest version of the Galaxy S2 because it is not. Rather, this is the first of the S2 lines. Now, I know it's next to impossible keeping up with these dumb names, particularly when they are all called essentially the same but look way different. That said, this is the Galaxy s2 released last year.

A tour around the phone reveals the typical Menu, Home, Back Search buttons in that order just below the screen. These are done in the capacitive touch type buttons. On the left, we have the volume rocker, the right has the screen lock/power button, top houses the headphone jack and the bottom the data port.

The most notable feature here is the giant 4.5" screen. Chances are, that's precisely why you are looking at this phone. Well, let us tell you that the screen is absolutely stellar. The colors are vivid, it is super sharp and bright. So to that end, this is a multimedia monster. The high resolution main camera is another highlight here. Pics from it are great and right up there with a digital camera in terms of quality. You'll probably be ditching your dedicated digital camera in favor of this the moment you get it

Since this is an Android device, expect it to have all of the great Android features like Google play, Google Maps, Youtube, WiFi, etc, etc. Suffice it to say, all of the Android feats are present and accounted for. This phone is not handicapped in any way. Additionally, since the phone has a super fast processor, you won't be missing out on Netflix like you would on lower end devices. Netflix play absolutely great on this phone but don't get carried away because the carrier data caps will still apply despite the "Unlimited" data billing.

The Samsung S959g is a stellar phone. The screen is absolutely amazing and probably worth the price of admission. The digital camera is another stand out here with it's high resolution capacity. Overall, this is an excellent device that you won't be disappointed in owning. It's got tons of power for the most demanding of tasks and of course looks great too. The only thing you may have a hard time with is storage because it is a rather sizable unit be it a skinny sizable unit.
