This is a true high end phone bringing the awesome touch screen concept and 3g speed to the Straight Talk phone line up. The responsive 2"x3" 262k color touch screen comes with Samsung's great TouchWiz interface that makes this a very functional and easy to use phone. The Finesse also comes loaded with with all the features you would expect from a touch screen phone of this caliber.
Features include an excellent 2 mega pixel camera that takes great pictures. The camera feature also allows you to record video which you can store on the onboard micro SD card. Unlike some of the lower end Samsungs, the Finesse is capable of reading microSD cards of up to 16 gig in capacity so you can store plenty of media. Another popular feature is the onboard MP3 player which you can use to access the microSD card for your music. Perhaps the most impressive feature is the full HTML browser which lets you access web pages you can't normally access with other mobile browsers. This indeed is a great feature which you can take full advantage of using the phone's EV-DO 3g speed. All in all this is an excellent phone. Finesse FAQ and concerns
What is the handwriting feature for? - This feature allows you to send text messages by actually writing on the screen [handwriting] instead of using the keys. To access this feature, Tap the "Messages" choice at the bottom of the screen followed by "Message Settings" and lastly select "Keypad/Entry Mode". You will see two options on top. Use the drop down to select "Handwriting full screen". The next time you send a text message, instead of the keypad, you will see a blank screen. Write on the screen either with your finger or a stylus.
Can I access My Gmail or Yahoo email? - Yes, you can access any web based email (including encrypted sites) by simply going to the site i.e. Gmail and entering your log in information.
Can I stream YouTube videos -No, Some changes have been made to prevent real time streaming however you can still download the video file and play it back.
How do I use the widgets? -The Finesse comes with some very cool widgets including: A clock with different timezones, A player that reads your memory card, A writing note pad, a Twitter and Facebook widget. To use them, you first need to tap the left arrow coming out the side of the screen (this will expose the widgets). Then you need to touch and drag any widget you want to use on to the main screen. Once it resides on the main screen, you tap it to use it. You can always return the widgets back to the left bar the same way you brought them out.
How do I send touch tones during a call? -Since the phone locks during the call to prevent your face from touching the screen, you need to first unlock the phone during the call. To unlock the phone during a call, simply press the top right corner button for two seconds. You should see "dialer" at the bottom left. Tap that and you will then be able to send touch tones during a call. By unlocking the phone, you also have access to mute, and speaker phone.
